Shortly after I decided to make The Art of Soap, I stumbled upon this video on Etsy. It gave me butterflies! I was more determined than ever to contact artists like the Brown Rice Family and tell the world about them. Their soaps will be featured, and Yuichi wrote a wonderful essay about his inspiration and travels for the book. They are so passionate and it shows in everything they do.
cool story... loved the video... and the dog in the background all the time. their soap looks SO good, i was inspired to go and order 2 bars - just now! can't wait to receive it & try it. great idea debbie to profile soapmakers - thanks!
ReplyDeleteAwesome video and true artists - I really enjoyed this, and I'm going to look into their Etsy Shop to see more of their soaps - so intriguing! Thanks for bringing stories like this to our attention, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteWow! I so love that there are soapmakers out in Brooklyn. Thanks Debbie for sharing this! I can't believe they mix by hand..such patience and dedication :) I love how they all get together and participate in the process - the dog too!

ReplyDeleteThe soapingredience and the work looks wonderful, in germany you wouldn´t be able to sell one soap if people saw the video. Sad somehow as here all need s to be made in a hyginic kitchen, no animals allowed near, aou cannot produce at home...no way
ReplyDeleteI think your soap is unique and lovely
